Historicial Development: E. S. Bolton established a cotton gin and sawmill in the old Sand Springs area, near Gent. He used oxen to haul lumber into Jacksonville for home building. Edward Bolton remembered often when he and his brothers hauled lumber by wagon to Jacksonville.
