The Directory of Texas Manufacturers 1956-1958 reveals that the sawmill was located at Malta, about 5.7 miles east of DeKalb. Established in 1941, the mill was operated by L. T. Vanderburg, who with less than ten employees manufactured crossties and bridge timbers. |
