Historicial Development: | This small operation is listed in the 1900 Manuscript Census and was closed probably by 1905 or 1906. The 1899 county tax roll listed the steam engine and boiler under W. M. Rollo as worth $200. It had a planing mill, a tram road, and a school. Robert Hart was the planing mill foreman; George Howes, the engineer; Charles Howes, schoolteacher; John W. Reese, locomotive engineer; John Beason, Wilson Brown, Wilsey Williams, the sawyers; Pete Lock, carriage runner; Billy Adkins, block setter; and Jay Mosely, fireman. |
