Historicial Development: | C. L. Morgan, of Longview, Texas, had a lumber mill at Oakwood, on the Trinity River, in the early 1920s, according to his daughter, Lucille Terry. This mill, much like the Brookfield Bluff operation that operated at the same time, cut hardwood lumber for the car parts market in Detroit. The mill was supervised by C. L.'s brother, T. C. Morgan. C. L. Morgan, a sawmiller from Longview, also had mills at Jefferson, Marion County, as well as Brookfield Bluff, Houston County. |
