Historicial Development: The planing mill operation of the Cotton Belt Lumber Company at Lufkin was operating in at least January 1909. The Southern Industrial and Lumber Review of that month reported the company had ordered a Berlin Machine Works No. 94 fast feed matcher and a No. 118 inside molder. Fire destroyed the plant, and it never was rebuilt.
