Historicial Development: A. M. Langston, according to Houston County records, sold a sawmill plant to Richard Arnold in 1899 for $1,400. Property at the plant included a steam boiler, a steam engine, a saw box bought earlier from J. S. Langston, a Fisher & Davis Carriage, a circular saw bought earlier from H. L. Brannen, a log wagon bought earlier from the firm of Langston and Dunnam, two yokes of oxen, and a sawdust conveyor. J. S. Langston and [A. J.] Dunnam were sawmilling at Lovelady in 1884, according to a railroad directory, and apparently formed a partnership later.
