Historicial Development: Cade Brothers operated sawmills in East Texas from 1900 on. By 1907, they had established a company at Chandler that would last for at least fifty years. In 1907, Cade Brothers owned the sawmill in Chandler as well as a mill at La Salle (Rye) in Liberty County, which they were moving from Cushing. The Chandler mill is listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1907. Cade Bros were listed at Chandler in the Southern Lumberman. Southern Lumberman's Directory of American Saw Mills and Planing Mills edition of 1928 and the The Lumbermen's Credit Rating Book, October 1934. According to Nelson T. Samson's list of East Texas sawmills in 1957, Cade Lumber Company at Chandler operated a sawmill.
