Historicial Development: The hardwood mill of Jones and O'Shaughnessy appeared in the October 1934 rating book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association at Beaumont. It had another mill at Haslam in Shelby County. The Gulf Coast Lumberman reported in 1942 that O. N. Cloud had bought the Roy Jones Lumber Company at Beaumont. Property included a band mill, a planing mill, dry kilns, sheds, and uncut timber. This may be, in fact, the Roy Cloud Lumber Company described by W. T. Block.
