Historicial Development: J. W. Clark operated a sawmill at Clark's Switch from at least May to September of 1907. Clark mortgaged to Varden, Beauman, Eastham Co “One carload of lbr to be delivered by J W Clark at Clark's Switch.” In August, he mortgaged 22,000 feet of lumber to Harris Lipsitz Co of Dallas. In September he mortgaged in equal halves his lumber at the Switch to S G Dreyfus Company and San Augustine Grocery Company.
