Historicial Development: The C.A. Manning mill at Center appeared in a 1915 directory of sawmills as having a daily cutting capacity of 15,000. The longest length board stock the mill could produce was 32 feet. Manning lived at residence 94, Precinct 1, in 1910, and was enumerated as the foreman for the J. R. Schilling sawmill.
