Historicial Development: In August 1906, according to county records, C. C. Goodwin mortgaged a half interest in an Ames boiler, a Houston Standard and Gamble steam engine, a sawmill an edger, a log wagon, and in the commissary of the Goodwin and Thomas sawmill, located at the mill site. In 1907, according to county records, C. C. Goodwin mortgaged to B. S. Ferguson “all the tenant houses, commissary, houses, mill sheds, dollyways, etc.”
