Historicial Development: Y. N. Yarbrough owned and operated a sawmill complex in Panola County in 1900. That year he contracted to sell about $125,000 feet of lumber at his mill and more than 50,000 feet of planed lumber at E. E. Porter's planer, which was located at Beckville. The contract was with Dreyfuss & Co. and specified the lumber had to be hauled to Beckville. Yarbrough's mill must have been close to the small community. Yarbrough had a planer along with his sawmill, for in 1907, he mortgaged it to Walter Connally & Co.
