Historicial Development: The Ballinson shingle mill, seven miles west of Beckville, probably near Sugar Hill in Rusk County, is noted in Panola County records. On October 18, 1907, F. Van Sickle, who owned at sawmill at Sugar Hill, mortgaged 100,000 hart-pine shingles stacked at Ballinson's shingle mill.
