Historicial Development: The Rogers Lumber Company operation is one of the largest remaining portable mill operations in southeast Texas. Mr. Rogers told Howard Williams that his sawmill is the largest one in Orange County. Rogers first operated a sawmill in Sour Lake, Texas, in 1962. The pine beetles destroyed most of his wood. He does not cut cypress because he feels that it is of low quality. He trucks in the logs.
