Historicial Development: R. H. Yarbrough in 1911 contracted with A. A. Haaksma and wife to log all the pine timber on 420 acres belonging to Haaksma. Yarbrough had to build a mill to manufacture the sawtimber on Haaksma's land. Haaksma would receive $1.50 per every thousand feet of sawtimber. In 1906 R. H. Yarbrough mortgaged to Geo. R. Dilley of Palestine a 10-inch by 12-inch steam engine, a 44-inch boiler, a Curtis Dixie E sawmill, a Curtis 3-saw edger, a #2 swing saw, and two 56-inch circular saws.
