Historicial Development: The Census for 1880 lists W. C. Roddy at the old town of Larissa, about nine miles northwest of Jacksonville. Roddy and Wagner bought from Rhone a 20-horsepower steam engine, a sawmill complex, five oxen, all the lumber at the yard. The plant also had a gin.
