Historicial Development: The Texarkana Lumber Company in 1901 was building a large planing mill in town. Texarkana Lumber Company bought the former mill of M. C. Wade and Floyd Thompson at Texarkana in 1903. The plant was located on Ward and Rogers streets. It also was giving mortgages as early as 1911 to other lumber companies so that they could secure sawmilling equipment. In 1928, it was operating a planing mill business at Texarkana.
