| History: | Allen moved from Brookeland, in Sabine County, to Liberty County after cutting out. The I. C. C. stated that Miller-Vidor Lumber Company, a mile away at Milvid, induced Allen to construct a mill near its plant at Milvid.
The mill operated its own tram over several logging spurs into the timber, logged with 8-wheel wagons, bought timber from local farmers, and moved the logs over its tram to its junction with the Riverside & Gulf, over which it had trackage rights to the Allen mill. Allen & Company paid ninenty cents per car for the rights. In 1910, Allen & Company moved more than 6,000 tons over the Riverside & Gulf tracks.
After T. B.'s death, the company was re-organized by his sons and was known as Allen & Company. T. B. Allen was the father of J. B. Allen and Frank Allen.
