History: | A Nacogdoches newspaper in June 1900 reported that a flood on the Angelina River caused significant damage to the Cameron Lumber Company mill at Michelli. It was noted that damage was almost “beyond repair.” Three miles of tram, all the bridges and one engine were swept away.
An article in American Lumberman in November 1900 reported that logging was handled by four locomotives, thirty cars, and eighteen miles of standard gauge tracks. Horses were used extensively in logging operations in the woods.
